• Accommodation & Food: It’s more spread out and generally less developed than Lembongan. You’ll find more simple guesthouses and local warungs. That said, new, swanky spots are popping up all the time, so you can still find a decent feed and a comfy bed.

Penida is a treasure chest of spectacular sights that are genuinely as stunning as the photos suggest.

• The Big Three (Must-Do Photos):
  • Kelingking Beach: The famous ‘T-Rex’ cliff. The view is grouse, but the walk down to the beach? It’s a proper bush-bash on rough stairs. Be prepared, and don’t do it in your thongs!
  • Diamond Beach: Just as spectacular, with incredibly white sand and brilliant blue water. Again, the descent is a mission, but a real beauty.
